There is also the contribution of the Bergamo native Andrea Camozzi to Italy’s swimming feast at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto. The day of Tuesday, August 25 saw the Italians win 16 medals (out of a total of 27 for the day) with six golds, six silvers, and four bronzes, plus two records of the event. For the twenty-year-old from Bergamo, a silver medal in the 200 butterfly on a podium dominated by Italians: gold for Alberto Razzetti in 1’55”29 (event record), silver for Camozzi in 1’57”29, slightly slower than the 1’57”12 with which he had set the best time in the morning heats.
Next season the Bergamo native will begin the hunt for qualifying times for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics

For Camozzi another satisfaction in blue after reaching the semifinals a couple of weeks ago at the European Championships in Paris.
