Reading time less than a minute.The 23-year-old from Fiamme Oro is enchanting at the Lombardia Trophy-Memorial Anna Grandolfi, currently taking place at the IceLab ice rink on via San Bernardino. In the short program of the women’s singles, the Italian skater confirmed her skill on the international stage (she was also bronze in the team event at the Milan-Cortina Olympics) nearly matching her personal best with a segment score of 70.60 (39.68 for technical elements + 30.92 for components), just a blade’s edge away from her personal best: she is in third position behind the two-time European champion Estonian Niina Petrokina (first with 77.20, 44.08+32.12) and the Korean Jia Shin (second with 74.93, 42.88+32.05). On Saturday at 3 PM Gutmann will thus have the chance to reach the podium for the first time in this important event held in Bergamo.
Among the men, Selevko leads
In the men’s singles, the leader is the Estonian Mihhail Selevko, as expected: he delivered a high-level segment score of 91.09 (50.76+40.33). In second and third place are the Russian Matvei Vetlugin (90.02 for the 23-year-old competing under a neutral flag) and the Frenchman Correntin Spinar (89.08), the dark horse of the day. The first Italian, in fourth position, is Gabriele Frangipani (Fiamme Oro, 86.37). On the second day of competition, the start will be given by the rhythm dance of the ice dance pairs (at 12:30 PM).
