A bolt from the blue in the summer for Atalanta fans. As usual, many had already organized to follow Sarri’s team in some of the summer friendlies, especially the international ones, on the fields of Feyenoord, on August 2 in the Netherlands, and Schalke 04, on August 8 in Germany. However, on Thursday, July 9, the Nerazzurri club announced that for the two matches «the presence of away fans will not be allowed».
A decision that sparked the anger of many Atalanta fans who had already booked travel and hotels to follow the team during the summer friendlies. «This indication – explains Atalanta – is beyond the will of the involved clubs, who comply with the received provisions. While understanding the disappointment of the interested supporters, Atalanta BC wishes to thank all its fans for their constant closeness and valuable support, hoping to find them numerous during the new season».
