His name is closely tied to the history of Dall’Ara Moto, a business that for generations has been a point of reference in Bergamo and the province for motorcycle enthusiasts. His death comes 13 months after that of his brother Franco.
A family connected to motorcycles since 1929
The Dall’Ara family tradition in the motorcycle sector dates back to 1929, when Urbano Dall’Ara opened the first motorcycle shop in Bergamo. After World War II, the business passed to Aldo and later to the sons Luciano, Franco, Sandro, and Ezio, who carried on the passion of
family combining work with sports activities.
Sandro was among the key figures in the development of the motorcycle showroom opened in 1972. In 1978, the relationship with Honda began, with the dealership on via Carducci (closed in 2025) becoming the official reference point for the brand in Bergamo and the province. In the following years, Dall’Ara also established itself nationally, particularly with the marketing of the Honda XR range.
The passion for competitions
The commercial dimension was always accompanied by the sporting one, with the participation of the Dall’Ara family in motorcycle competitions and a significant role in the Bergamo enduro movement. Over the years, the Dall’Ara name has been linked to Italian and world championships. Sandro won two gold medals at the Six Days in 1968 and 1969. He had been living for some time in Borghetto di Mozzo: he leaves behind his wife Carla and son Vittorio in grief.
