The Giallorossi club announced it with a note on their official profile, but without providing details on what happened: “AS Roma expresses full support to Sporting Director Tony D’Amico regarding what happened at the end of the match against Atalanta. The club considers unacceptable the behavior of Atalanta’s CEO, Luca Percassi, towards one of its executives and highlights the correctness shown by D’Amico, who avoided any reaction. AS Roma will submit the incident to the competent bodies of sports justice for appropriate evaluations.”

Soon after Atalanta’s reply, which “firmly rejects the assessments expressed by AS Roma towards its CEO Luca Percassi. The club, considering it appropriate not to further fuel the matter through public statements, declares itself absolutely available immediately to undergo any necessary confrontation with the bodies of sports justice, in order to verify the circumstances mentioned.”
