The countdown is about to end for two athletes from Bergamo, ready to face their competitive commitments at the European Athletics and Swimming Championships.
Filippo, possible semifinal
Starting with the queen of sports, athletics, the time is about to strike for Filippo Dezza in Birmingham, who on the morning of Thursday, August 13, at 12:05 Italian time, will take to the track in the first round of the 200 meters. Twenty years old, belonging to the Bergamo Stars club, he is the absolute Italian champion in the specialty, and arrives with the 15th best time (20”48) out of 38 participants: qualifying for the semifinal is not impossible. The athlete from Brembate is experiencing his first high-level competition.
Andrea chases the final
Moving to Paris, on Friday the 14th Andrea Camozzi, also 20 years old, will be in the pool for the 200 butterfly: “They promise to be tough, but I am counting a lot on this race. I come in with the seventh qualifying time. I could reach the final, but the competition is high, both outside and within Italian borders: only two athletes per nation can access it, and I will have to “face” Alberto Razzetti and Federico Burdisso. I would like to get as close as possible to the times for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.”
