Thomas Kristensen to Atalanta, we are almost at the finish line. The negotiation is increasingly close to the green light that could happen between Wednesday, August 12 and Thursday, August 13: it is still necessary to define details and terms, always important and still to be clearly closed, but the positive outcome of the operation is just around the corner. Medical visits and signing will be scheduled afterwards.

The operation

Atalanta has been relentless in pressing for the strong Danish defender. The Kristensen option, a profile always appreciated at the Nerazzurri and constantly on the management’s radar, resurfaced strongly after the news of Berat Djimsiti’s imminent departure, destination Al-Diriyah, in Arabia. From there it was an escalation. First the surveys, then increasingly close contacts and the first proposals to Udinese, and finally the progressive raising of the stakes up to about 25 million, including bonuses (apparently about 20-21 fixed fee) which seems to have definitively unlocked the negotiation.

Percentage on future resale

Udinese, apparently, will still keep a percentage on any capital gain in case of resale of the player, it seems about 10%. Over the weekend there was a standby phase, with Atalanta stuck at an intermediate offer of about 20 million euros (apparently 16-18 + bonuses), but on Tuesday, August 11 the choice was made to accelerate the final phase which, barring surprises – in the transfer market, until the signatures, everything is by definition unpredictable and anything can happen -, could lead to the final handshake and Kristensen’s arrival at Maurizio Sarri’s court within the next 24-48 hours. In short, it’s not done yet, but the feeling is that we are at the final stretch and with a close preliminary agreement. On the Nerazzurri’s notebook, according to transfer market rumors, there were also Alessio Romagnoli from Lazio who would still be on the Nerazzurri radar, Jean-Clair Todibo from West Ham and in recent days the name of Juma Bah, owned by Manchester City but last season at Nice, also emerged. Kristensen, however, has always been the number one target.
