“The team has been revolutionized but the goals remain very high.” Change a lot, to change nothing, stay in flight and confirm themselves among the teams to beat. This is the mission of the new-old Cbl Costa Volpino, on the field Monday, August 10 for the first day of training of the 2026/26 season, the fourth in a row for the Bergamo club in the women’s Serie A2 championship.
Revolution in Costa Volpino
After winning the Coppa Italia and chasing promotion to A1 until the playoff semifinals last season, Luciano Cominetti’s team will start the season revolutionized with only five players confirmed in a renewed group, in which the arrival of Bulgarian opposite Monica Krasteva stands out, engaged with the national team ahead of the European Championships.
“We want to stay among the top four”
But general manager Roberto Dell’Orto does not hide the season goals: “The goals remain very high, to enter the top four at the end of the first half of the season to participate in the Coppa Italia and defend the title won last year and reach the end of the season to play the playoffs for promotion to A1.”

The first test with Offanengo on the 26th
The hope is that the revolution will bring the definitive leap in quality. “I see Monviso, Perugia, and Busto Arsizio very well, we will try to keep up with these three,” explains Dell’Orto. Cominetti will have two months to prepare the group, starting with the first friendly match, Wednesday, August 26 in Costa Volpino against Offanengo, followed by the test on Friday, August 28 in Treviglio against ChorusLife Bergamo.
The championship will start on Sunday, October 4 with the home match against Marsala.
