An important witness to Atalanta’s history has left us, Mrs. Carmela Tasca, wife of Giacomo Randazzo (the couple in the photo), who always called her Carmen, passed away at 89 years old in the affectionate embrace of her husband and children Ernesto, a respected sports agent, and Marzia, a teacher in Modena.

Carmen and Giacomo have been an inseparable couple for a lifetime, married in Caltagirone in December 1962 after an appropriate period of engagement. And, in 1970, when Randazzo left Sicily to become Atalanta’s general secretary, Mrs. Carmen joined him a few days later, giving her husband time to settle in and find a home, an operation made difficult by a good dose of distrust for those coming from the deep south.

All obstacles happily overcome during their years of residence in our city, always close to the stadium, where the family became appreciated, practically becoming «Bergamasca thanks to my children,» as father Randazzo always recalls. Mrs. Carmen, who truly loved football very little, had over time become a fierce fan, even following the team on international away games.

The last farewell will be on Saturday, June 6 at 2:30 PM in the chapel of the Fondazione Carisma.
